Rummage Sale

Ron and I have spent the last couple of weeks organizing the house and shop. We take an item, decide if we are going to put it into storage, put it in the camper, or sell it. If it sells, we put a price on it and put it in a box. All the boxes go into the shop. The rest either stay in the house (for now) or are in the upstairs garage. So we're at that uncomfortable part of moving where things are all topsy turvey. I made a poster of all our furniture that's for sale for people to look at while they're rummaging at the rummage sale. I also have advertised with posters plastered all over town, at the local schools (for my teacher stuff) and in the newspaper - so we're having a rummage sale every Saturday in April. Well . . . we were supposed to, but Mother Nature doesn't always cooperate. "Significant snowfall" was forecast for Saturday, so we decided to put out signs Friday and see if anyone would come. Well, did they ever! We had a garage packed with people, stuff was flying out the doors, furniture was selling - it was amazing! But the little bit of snow we had Friday was just a teaser - we woke up Saturday to a blizzard! Here's a couple of pictures. We had one person brave the snow but roads were closed and naturally we were too. I spent the day working on the kitchen and pricing all those little items. If you have a huge desire to check out what's for sale from my kitchen, go to www.craigslist.com and look at South Dakota, rummage sales. This morning I decided to get the cross country skis out one more time before we donate them to John and Elizabeth. It was fun at first, then things started warming up quickly and got too sticky! So we'll see how the rummage sale goes this Saturday. Hope it can move outdoors!
