Thursday Day 7 - Nemo to Deadwood

Today dawned a beautiful, sunny day with a light breeze and in the mid 70s. Ron and I are camped by a petting zoo and we keep seeing these albino turkeys – we finally concluded that the turkeys escaped from the zoo and mixed with the wild turkeys then the chickens escaped to hang out with the mixed up turkeys – its funny. The car had its own platform of brick and rocks, parked right in front of the girls’ cabin at Nemo. We took off by 9 a.m. and had a much easier ride than the day before – seemed like the hills weren’t quite so hilly today and the wind not so windy. We passed right in front of an old waterwheel. Ate lunch and drank root beer floats at the 50’s – 60’s tourist trap/amusement park/diner then Dusty and Karen braved the Ferris wheel. After a big climb up Strawberry Hill, we coasted down to Deadwood in the early afternoon, about 24 miles. So my bike sign “Deadwood or Bust” now has to change – I guess I’ll put “Pringle or Bust” on it!
