We started out with wonderful Dunn Bros. coffee this morning, then biked through the Rapid City Civic Center complex, taking in the Berlin Wall display and rose garden. Our next stop was the Journey Museum. If you have never had the chance to see this, I highly recommend it! The movie and displays were so informative - we really liked being able to match what we've seen so far to what was presented there. Then we ate a lovely lunch and began our uphill climb to Nemo. These boots were alongside the road. A lovely creek paralleled our road. We stopped at Steamboat Rock, the first place where lumber was legally logged in the Black Hills for the Homestake Mine in Lead. It only looks like a steamboat from far away, as you can see it doesn't really look steamboaty in the background above us! Home for the night was a cabin outside of Nemo, full of antiques and interesting western and old-tyme decor. It was a little challenged however, since the loft had a straight-up ladder that no one would want to use in the middle of the night! We traveled approx. 24 miles today with a headwind and plenty of hills. A good day's bike ride!
